You’ve landed here because you want to know if Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick is worth all the hype. We’re on the same boat. I’ve been seeing this foundation stick all over the internet and had to see what the hype is about. So I got it a few months back and have been testing it for awhile now. Let’s dive in and learn more about Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick and see if it’s worth the hype.
About Basma Beauty
Basma Beauty is a Canadian beauty brand found by Basma Hameed, who is a third-degree burn survivor. Basma suffered burns on her face as an infant and turned to makeup but constantly felt neglected by beauty brands where shade ranges were scarce and formulas were cakey.
Desperate for a way to conceal the scar on her face, Basma took matters into her own hands. She pioneered the Scar Camouflage Procedure – a treatment that involves implanting skin tone pigments into scar tissue. She opened two clinics and for the last 17 years, has been developing skin tone pigments for thousands of clients with different skin types, textures and conditions.
Witnessing firsthand the impact a customizable procedure she had on her clients’ confidence, she wanted to bring that same feeling to the beauty world. In 2021, BASMA Beauty was born.
Basma Beauty develops formulas with not just your skin tone in mind, but also your skin journey, skin type, your lifestyle and all the things that determine when, why, and how you prefer your makeup to work.
Packaging
Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick comes in a metallic pink stick which is sleek with magnetic closure. The brand name ‘Basma’ is embossed on the outside and the stick opens up like a lipstick so it’s super easy to use, overall. Just glide it all over your face and blend.
This foundation stick comes in 40 shades, which is amazing. I also LOVE the shadefinder quiz they have on their website – it is so easy to follow and honestly, the best shadefinder quiz I’ve seen out there with foundations. You’ll probably even end up finding the RIGHT foundation shade after that quiz, like me, and wonder how you were doing it all wrong.
Formula
I’ve used foundation sticks before but the formula on the Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick, blew me away. It’s in a stick form but not cakey at all. It is so creamy and glides on easily. When I say creamy, I don’t mean it as melting (no, it’s so far from that). It’s almost velvet like texture on the skin when it glides on which I love. It is super easy to blend and you can build as required. Definitely helps with concealing as well.
Basma really thought about this formula because this is what makes this product stand out from the rest. It isn’t dry which usually all foundation sticks turn out to be for my combination skin. It’s probably because of this formulation in the ingredients –
Vitamin E: An antioxidant that facilitates skin hydration
Aloe Vera Extract: Increases collagen and improves elasticity
Apricot Butter: Helps nourish, revitalize and soften skin

My experience with Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick
I’ve been using Basma Beauty The Foundation Stick for a few months now and I think it’s one of best foundations I’ve used in the last few years. I was initially hesitant to spend $54CAD on a foundation stick but the results are worth it.
Shade Match: I am in the shade 024 and honestly, this is the best foundation match so far I’ve found for my skin tone. The day I got it, I swatched it on my jawline and I couldn’t tell the difference in shade on my skin tone and the foundation stick. It’s a perfect match. It glides on easily and is so easy to blend. I also like that I can build coverage based on how I feel that day. I can keep it light some days where I want sheer coverage and on days where I want more heavier coverage, this can be used as concealer + foundation routine.
Texture : It doesn’t look cakey even after multiple hours of wear. It gives a nice luminous base . One thing I do have to point out is if you have oily/ combination skin – definitely use a setting spray/ setting powder because this is a velvet dewy finish which after long hours of wear can end up looking a little oily on the skin.
Wear: If you have oily/combination skin and don’t use a setting spray / powder – you might want to first try a sample. I have combination skin and I usually like this foundation for shorter durations like a date / brunch events and use a setting spray for longer work days. With setting spray, it lasts almost all day for me. Without, it lasts for almost 5 hours for me.
