Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush Review

I am big on hair tools that do the most for the buck and I do try a lot of hair tools every year, the high end ones and the budget ones. Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of videos from TYMO about their viral Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush. Is it actually a portable straightener that you can travel with and does it do what it needs to? Let’s find out.  

I’ve had the Tymo Porta Hair Straightener for a few weeks now and here’s my review on it.

Packaging

Tymo Porta Hair Straightener brush has an ergonomic design with a patented sandwich bristle design that comprises of the MCH heating as the first layer, the heating teeth as the middle layer and an anti-scald shield as the top layer so you won’t feel the heat on your hands or have any burns. 

This product has 3 heat settings for different hair types –

1. 200°C (395°F) – for thick / curly / wavy hair
2. 180°C (356°F) – normal / slightly curly hair (this is the heat setting I’ve used so far and it works perfect for me)
3. 160°C (320°F) – dyed / dark coloured hair

Tymo Porta Hair Straightener has a USB-C charge port so it is rechargable and cordless and can be used worldwide (this is great because many hair tools don’t work for voltages outside North America). 

How to Use

This is a portable hair straightener brush so there’s no need to use it on wet hair and works so well on dry hair.  Comb through to remove any tangles and divide hair into sections. Use a light heat protectant before styling. You can use it as a brush through your hair and within minutes, you have straight hair. (not exaggerating). My hair took less than 5 minutes to style. Travel friendly level max!

My experience with Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush

I’ve been using Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush for a few weeks now and here’s why I love it. 

Let me start by sharing what my hair type is – I have naturally straight hair with medium volume so it’s always a challenge finding something that works for my hair type. I got the Tymo Porta Hair Straightener mainly for it’s portable feature so that I can travel with it. I have a lot of hair tools but the last time I travelled, I couldn’t find a single tool that I could take outside North America because of the voltage. This one is cordless and has a USB-C type charge that I can charge using outlet or a power bank if I’m on the go.

Tymo Porta Hair Straightener is so tiny and cute. It fits in the palm of my hands and comes with a travel pouch that I can just toss it in my personal item when I’m travelling. 

Efficiency and Ease of Use

I have mentioned this before but I am someone who needs hair tools that are easy to use and requires the LEAST amount of time to use. I have thick hair and if I use any hair tool, I want it to be extremely convenient. Tymo Porta Hair Straightener brush has exceeded my expectations. I actually didn’t think it would work so well! It took me exactly 4 minutes to create a blowout with this tool. 

The fact that the bristles don’t heat up is a major plus because I can use it to create waves/curls easily without burning my hands.  You can just use it as a brush on your hair and end up with beautiful straight hair. 

Travel Friendly

The fact that you can use this worldwide is a game changer for me. One charge has lasted up to 3-4 uses on my long hair so it’s great. It does have a 30-minute automatic off feature but if you need more time than that (which I think you shouldn’t), you can switch it on again. 

Results

I tried the second heat setting on the Tymo Porta Hair Straightener brush thinking that it might work best for my straight hair and it didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t a lot of heat and I ended up with the best blowout style salon hair. You can really work your way with the brush for different hairstyles. I tried to also curl with this and it did create beautiful face framing curls. 

I am so excited to travel with this because it’s easily become my favourite tool for the quality, the ease of use and the wonderful results I saw with it.

Cons of Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush

• Some might find the price point a little higher but if you are someone who travels and wants your hair looking fly, this is worth an investment. It doesn’t disappoint. 
• I don’t see any other cons because this is one of the best portable straighteners out there.

If you didn’t know it already based on my review so far,  Tymo Porta Hair Straightener Brush is a winner for me on all fronts. The packaging, functionality, quality of the product and the ease of use is everything. If you’re travelling and looking for hair tools for the same, let it be this.
