Extreme hairfall or hair thinning? Don’t fret because #NioxinNowInIndia

Hellooo 🙂

How have you all been? My week has been as usual, packed – thanks to corporate life 😐 But last weekend was super fun! 😀

I had been to the #NioxinNowInIndia event organized by BlogAdda where I got to meet fellow bloggers and oh my! How much fun we had! I met Krupa from Ishtyleawhile and Priyanjana from MoonShine and Sunlight! We had fun cracking the silliest jokes, spoke about things we love in general.  I love networking with fellow bloggers for the simple fact that we all share a similar passion for writing and meeting like-minded individuals and discussing this blogging journey always feels good.

So the event was organized last Saturday and I braved the scorching sun(or not 😛 ) thinking I was late for the event which was scheduled at 12.30pm. But I entered to find out the event had not started yet.

First things first! I love the grandeur of Bodycraft Salons ♥ I felt like I had entered a palace! The serene white walls, the gorgeous work done on the walls and the courteous staff made me feel like a queen 😛 A little about BodyCraft for people who are not aware?

BodyCraft Salons is one of the most sought after salons in Bangalore. They have many branches throughout and BodyCraft has proved to be a pioneer in terms of day spa. They mostly deal with beauty rituals. If you actually look through their menu card, you would see a variety of services that you wouldn’t actually find in other salons. No kidding. Make sure you check once 😛

My hair here is before the hair therapy 🙂

So the first thing we bloggers did was talk to each other and introduce our blog. Man! I felt like a 6 month old baby there 😛 Met bloggers who had blogged for more than a decade! Isn’t that awesome? It was lovely to meet bloggers who were actually an inspiration to many 🙂

Anyhoo, Daisy from the Nioxin team gave us a brief introduction about Nioxin and what it does!

Here is what she said:

Thinning hair is a highly common occurrence with more than one in two people across the globe experiencing some level of thinning.  However, for something that affects so many people, there is a shocking lack of helpful, clear and consistent information and inspiration available surrounding what thinning hair is and why it occurs.

Furthermore, hair thinning is a topic that few people feel comfortable discussing, making it even harder to address. Thinning hair occurs along a spectrum that ranges from barely noticeable thinning to significant thinning/hair loss, and individuals experience a wide range of emotions depending on where they fall within the spectrum.

To address this concern, P&G Salon Professional will introduce this January a unique brand- NIOXIN, a leading salon professional brand from U.S, specializing in thinning hair for more than 25 years. Now for the first time, men and women in India will also be able to experience NIOXIN’s advanced products

So NIOXIN has developed the following new definition of hair thinning based on scientific, stylist and consumer insights which is

ThinningHair = A Poor Scalp Environment + Fewer Hair Strands + Finer Hair Strands

After this, we had Swati Gupta, Creative Director of BodyCraft Salons explain us more about Nioxin therapy for thinning hair.

NIOXIN therapy includes a therapeutic massage to increase blood flow followed by…

  • Derma renew service (Facial for scalp): cleansing hair and scalp to remove sebum and residues,
  • Density protect: conditioning and protecting hair to help reduce hair loss due to breakage,
  • Density repair: by thickening each hair strand.

What’s nice about Nioxin is that you first get your hair consultation done to know what the exact hair condition is. These 3 therapies mentioned above can be done only if a hair consultation is done in the beginning 🙂 It is not recommended to use without a consultation.

Nioxin believes that our scalp is an extension of our facial skin and needs to be treated with utmost care just how we treat our face.

So we all know the CTM routine for our face.- Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing. Nioxin swears by this for our hair as well in the 3 therapies mentioned above 🙂

After the introduction about Nioxin, hair consultation was done for each blogger. Nioxin has 6 different hair system kits for different hair types based on stages of thinning.

This is how it is decided:
System 1-> normal to thin looking hair(fine hair) – Natural hair

System 2-> noticeably thinning hair(fine hair) – Natural Hair

System 3-> normal to thin looking hair(fine hair) – Chemically treated hair

System 4-> noticeably thinning hair(fine hair) – Chemically treated hair

System 5-> normal to thin looking hair(medium/coarse hair) – Natural/ Chemically treated hair

System 6-> noticeably thinning hair(medium/coarse hair) – Natural/ Chemically treated hair

Mine was system 5 and my hair type is considered normal hair thinning/ natural hair. Noticeably thinning hair is when you can actually feel your scalp has less hair than how it was a few months back. When you feel “omg! I need to do something about it”

1) The first step performed was the scalp facial – Derma renew service. It felt like menthol was sprinkled on my scalp.  It felt cold, soothing and just lovely! I’m sure you can make that out from my expression. LOL Daisy also gave a nice massage to my scalp and the next thing I wanted to do was doze off. It felt heavenly!

2) The scalp facial had to be kept for 10 minutes after which Daisy washed it off with a Nioxin cleanser. I did notice that the cleanser lathers really well.

3) After the cleansing, Daisy used a Nioxin Scalp Revitaliser followed by Nioxin Intensive treatment hair masque for my tresses. My hair length is long so the masque was just a bit of an add-on 🙂

After these 3 steps, the next thing I remember is I am flipping my blow-dried hair clicking endless selfies. 😛 My hair felt so much more lighter, my scalp felt like it had a rebirth. Quite literally! 😀

I say that because a few months back due to a change in my shampoo, I was facing flaky scalp. It was almost gone but that flaky feeling never left though! With Nioxin therapy, I could actually feel my scalp and no flakiness at all ♥ That’s why I call it “rebirth”

On the whole, I had a pleasant experience at the #NioxinNowInIndia event 🙂 But the only con about the event was only 3 stylists were available for 12 bloggers and by the time everyone was done, it was pretty late! 🙁 Nevertheless, on the brighter side – it was fun talking to Harish and Ankita from Team BlogAdda throughout the event! They made sure every blogger felt comfortable around 🙂

On our TJD score card,

                                  Grade                         Meaning
                                  A+                      Excellent, MUST buy!
A                      Very good, worth a try
                                  B+                      Good
                                  B                      Satisfactory
C+                      Go on, take a risk
                                  F                      EPIC fail! Stay away!

Nioxin Therapy scores a Grade A. 🙂

I have been given the Hair system kit 5 for use now! I will be using it for a month and posting a review on the blog! Watch out for that 😉

  2. I couldn’t recognise myself in the second pic with the Blogadda team. That was after the treatment!!! I wish I didn’t have to leave so urgently. We could have totally taken some hair flipping selfies together.

    1. I know! 🙁

    2. I wish the same!! I was the first one to leave amongst the three of us 🙁
