❓What is a supermoon?

🌕 A supermoon occurs when the moon’s orbit is closest to Earth at the same time the moon is full. This happens when the full moon falls at its closest point to Earth in its orbit - called Perigee. Perigee is when the moon is 221,519 miles from Earth and appears bigger and brighter than a normal full moon.🌝

🐕 walking with Maui outside, I got to see this today and it gave me so much energy ✨

It also reminded me of a walk with my dad YEARS BACK ( I was 6 or 7 years old) when we ask SO MANY questions. lol

I asked him on a walk back home - “why the moon followed me everywhere I go” and he had the sweetest reply. ❤️

He said “that’s because the moon knows you are the most beautiful princess in town and wants to always be with you and light up your path wherever you go” 🥹🫶

He could’ve given the obvious logical response but he chose to give me one that I will remember all my life 🥰 my dad made me feel so special in that moment - ah! 🥰 forever etched in memory - that walk back home 🥹

Even to this day, when I take a walk outside and see the moon - this is the only thought that comes to mind. ❤️ it’s the little things and these sweet moments that remind us how important it is to surround yourself with people you love and appreciate. Who can make you feel special and vice versa 🫶

as a dog lover, this was shocking 🤯👇

dogs were banned from living in Reykjavík for 60 years! A ban on dogs in the city was issued in 1924 for three reasons below👇

1️⃣ Reykjavík was a small but rapidly growing place at the time. Due to an acute housing shortage, many residents were living in small, overcrowded apartments. The authorities felt that banning dogs would make the living situation much more bearable.

2️⃣ Dogs were considered working animals and were deemed ill-suited for city life. During this time, most of the country was rural and dogs played an important role in working on farms chasing sheep. Plus, breeds like Icelandic sheepdogs need a lot of space to run wild.

3️⃣ The last reason came down to hygiene. It was argued that dogs were a major carrier of tapeworms, so they were considered a health risk.

🤯 After many years of dog lovers being fined for illegally owning their canine companions in Reykjavík, the dog ban was lifted on April 3rd, 1984.

🫢 Unfortunately, that was not the end of the story. In an effort to keep the number of dogs living in the city down, owners were still required to apply for a special permit to have their dogs in Reykjavík up until 2006.

If you’ve walked around Reykjavik, you’ll notice a lot of cats. Over the 60-year dog ban, cats became the pet of choice in the city. Whether you’re in the centre of downtown or in outlying areas, you’re bound to come across a curious and adorable cat roaming the streets.

Ferrol has been thinking of getting a tattoo of @og.mauiwowie for sometime now and when he saw Cheon Tattos and his beautiful work, we knew it is definitely going to happen ✨

When Ferrol was thinking of a portrait of Maui for tattoo and asked me which one is nice, I showed him my favourite photo of Maui and we knew that was it 🥰😍 it shows Maui’s personality so well 🥰 he is a lover, always happy and smiling from ear to ear 😘
