How are you all? I’m doing fine but work is taking a toll 😐 I hate it when I can’t blog because I come back home so worn out and the only thing I feel like doing is hitting the bed. But there is something about blogging that keeps me super motivated every single day and to come back home and share my thoughts with you all is a wonderful feeling! 🙂
So if you saw my updates on my social media handles recently, you know that I was at the Gillette Venus #SubscribeToSmooth event. When Gillette Venus approached us to collaborate, I was so glad because Gillette Venus is something that I have been using for almost 2 years now and to talk about it would be a cake walk for me 😀
Now about the event! The event started off with Actress Radhika Pandit and Aesthetic Physician, Dr. Rashmi Shetty busting myths related to shaving. I wasn’t alien to any of those myths because I get asked a lot of questions from everyone when I tell them I prefer shaving to waxing.
Speaking about Gillette Venus, Radhika Pandit said, “Basis my personal experience, I can confidently say that Gillette Venus products are skin friendly and are perfectly designed to suit every woman’s needs. I thoroughly believe that shaving is the best way of hair removal. Women simply need to know the right technique of shaving to get the best results. I’m glad to be a part of the Gillette Venus panel discussion that has given me an opportunity to educate women on the benefits of shaving and encourage them to consider it as a part of their beauty regime.”
Sharing her experience from the Gillette Venus Panel Discussion, Aesthetic Physician, Dr. Rashmi Shetty said, “I am pleased to a part of this educative session where I can interact with the audience and break the myths around shaving for women. Contrary to the belief, shaving is actually one of the widely recommended methods of hair removal for women. The belief that shaving leads to darker skin or thicker hair growth is completely false. Hair growth is determined by the genetic and hormonal makeup of a person and has nothing to do with the hair removal method you adopt.”
1) One because I wear dresses and skirts very often and can’t wait for the hair to grow back long enough to head to the salon. We all know how the parlor staff insist on hair growth to have a certain length before waxing. 😛 It’s a NO-NO for me.
2) I used to end up with rashes on my arms because of the waxing as I have sensitive skin and I did not want that to continue.
These two reasons are why I switched to shaving. But before I started using this method of hair removal, I realized that I had a lot of questions in mind about how this would work. Although with time, I learnt out of experience, at the Gillette Venus #SubscribeToSmooth challenge, Dr. Rashmi Shetty answered them for us.
Most of the common queries were:
1) Will hair grow thicker when you shave?
2) Will shaving result in in-growth hair?
3) Does shaving make your arms and legs darker?
While I would absolutely LOVE to answer all these questions right away, I would want to share my thoughts on shaving in a series of posts I have planned for this 🙂 I have taken the Gillette Venus #SubscribeToSmooth challenge and I want you all to sit back, enjoy this series as much as I will love jotting about it.
And here’s the all in one Gillette Venus shaving kit I received with the razor, a pack of shaving cartridges and Satin Care Shave Gel ( which I absolutely LOVE) 😀 I will be using this for the challenge and will update you regularly through this series about the myths and how I bust those myths with my experience, the right way to shave, the right product to use, how to shave effectively without nicks and cuts and what causes in-growth hair etc.
Do leave any questions you have regarding shaving here or on my social media channels because I will be answering each and every question you have in the #SubscribeToSmooth series coming up. Don’t shy away from asking! It’s normal for all of us to have hair and ways to deal with it or keep it. I would love it if you would take this more as a learning experience and less as an awkward situation. There is nothing awkward about it 🙂 Let’s get talking!
For more questions about shaving you can refer to Gillette Venus’s app that serves as a guide 🙂
Looking forward to your queries!
*Disclaimer: This is a collaboration with the brand. However, my take on Gillette Venus will be unbiased and true to my opinion. I speak on this series as a regular user of this product for 2 years.*
