ELLE Carnival For A Cause

Hey there! 🙂

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty lazzyyyyy to say the least! There was a bandh on saturday in Bangalore and I was just sitting at home, pampering myself to some manicure and pedicure that was due since so long! 😛 No, I don’t have them scheduled – so don’t panic! LOL. 😛 Sunday, on the other hand was a fun day thanks to some collaborations and events to attend. 😀

Anyhoo, if you guys follow me on FB, Instagram or Twitter – I had posted pictures about an event I attended last sunday! ELLE Carnival For A Cause to be precise 🙂 When I received an invite to attend the event, I was more than happy because it was for such a humble cause! To support Breast Cancer Awareness! 🙂

So what is ELLE Carnival For A Cause all about?

Every year, ELLE raises a charity event for Breast Cancer Awareness by organizing a carnival where people from all walks of life can come together to support the cause. All the proceedings from the event go to Ogaan Cancer Foundation, which supports the Women’s Cancer Initiative – Tata Memorial Hospital with this event. It is very important to get regular health check-ups done and having an event entirely dedicated to raise awareness for breast cancer is amazing! 🙂

The carnival was an extravagant affair with good food, live music and some pampering with endless designer clothes to shop from at bargain prices! What? Thinking how designer clothes at bargain prices? Well, that’s what makes this event unique! The clothes were donated by designers and brands across the country with unbelievable prices and all below Rs.5000! 😀 Ain’t that awesome? ♥ Participating designers and brands include Eina Ahluwalia, Masaba, De Milano, Gaurav Gupta, Estee Lauder amd Forest Essentials. There was also a silent auction featuring designer merchandise from prestige brands like Bvlgari’s, Tod’s, Gucci, Louis Vuitton. 😉

There were fun activities lined up like tarot reading, manicure counter to get some really gorgeous manicures and of course the photo booth! I was checking out a few accessories to pose for the photo and Archana Pillai, the VP of ELLE came by and asked if she could style some on me. I was more than happy to say yes. 😀 She did give me some quirky and fun glasses and a cute hat to pose with. Pictures I’ll be sharing very soon as it’s with ELLE team 😀

The food was amazing thanks to the chefs at Taj West End and the live music kept me company while I gazed through the designer pieces on display. I loved a mustard ballerina I saw but by the time I came back for it, it was gone 🙁 That’s how much the stuff on display were in demand. While some were running around searching for their favourite designer, others were happily posing at the photo booth grinning from ear to ear. 😀

What I absolutely loved about the event was how people came forward to support Breast Cancer by spending on a donor card worth Rs. 2000. For some it might be a lot while for some it’s a small gesture towards donating to a noble cause. 🙂

Through its Fashion Joins Hands Against Breast Cancer Initiative, ELLE augments work in the area of breast health under the auspices of the Ogaan Cancer Foundation, which supports the Women’s Cancer initiative – Tata Memorial Hospital.

These carnivals are held every year in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. This year, while the Delhi event took place on April 5th, the carnival will happen in Mumbai on May 9th! So if you are a mumbaikar, don’t miss out on the carnival! I promise you it’s an amazing event if you love fashion, food and music 😀

Until next time,

Ciao. ♥
